Spain hosts US-China trade negotiations

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, received the delegations from the United States and China, who have travelled to Spain for a round of trade negotiations, on 14 September 2025 at the Palacio de Santa Cruz, the head office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.

Representatives of the two countries will discuss their trade relationship in a negotiating round at the Palacio de Santa Cruz, the head office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.

The Government of Spain wishes to thank both countries for having chosen Madrid as the venue for this bilateral meeting and reiterates its full involvement and collaboration with both delegations in the organisation of the event.

Spanish foreign policy relies on diplomacy and negotiation to achieve understanding between nations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation is a bridge for rapprochement and dialogue and is pleased to have been chosen as the venue for this negotiating round.
