Traffic stop results in seizure of loaded firearm: C25-311869

On December 28, 2025, around 1:00 a.m., officers from North District conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the rear of the 600 block of Redwood Avenue. The driver exited the vehicle and was observed walking through a backyard, while three additional occupants remained in the vehicle.

Police took the man into custody, identified him and placed him under arrest for an outstanding warrant. Upon his arrest the following items were seized:

  • Loaded 9 mm pistol
  • Magazine with ammunition
  • Rounds of 9 mm ammunition
  • 200 grams of bagged cannabis

A 26-year-old man is facing the following charges:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

He was released on an Undertaking.

The other occupants in the vehicle were released with no charges.
