The deadlines for the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Boost for Small Municipalities call have recently been extended by a few days.
The NEB Boost for Small Municipalities targets local authorities in rural areas and municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants.
The initiative provides financial support and visibility for small-scale projects that embody the New European Bauhaus values of sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion, helping smaller communities implement innovative local initiatives and transform public spaces.
A total of 20 winners will be selected, each receiving a monetary prize of EUR 30,000. In addition to the financial award, each winner will benefit from a communication package provided by the European Commission. (e.g., promotion in the European Commission's social media and websites, assistance to produce a short video and support in promoting the projects).
The European Committee of the Regions has been involved in the development of this pilot initiative from its inception, notably through its opinion on the New European Bauhaus, supporting efforts to enable small municipalities to implement NEB projects in their territories.
The updated deadline for the NEB Boost for Small Municipalities is:
22 March 2026, 19:00 CET
In parallel, the deadline for the NEB Prizes 2026 has also been extended to 22 March 2026. The prizes recognise inspiring projects and ideas that contribute to creating sustainable, inclusive and beautiful living spaces. This year's edition introduces four new thematic categories, addressing priorities such as circularity, water resilience, arts and culture, and local democracy.
We warmly encourage you also share this opportunity through your communication channels. Your support will help ensure strong participation from local and regional authorities.
