Rep. Latimer Continues Outreach to Local Governments

WHITE PLAINS, NY - U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) is continuing his series of presentations to local governments in Westchester County. Congressman Latimer - who has previously served in elected city, county and state positions - made the commitment to meet with all of the local village boards, town boards, and city councils in communities of the 16th District.

"Residents want to see government solve problems, not point fingers at other governments," Rep. Latimer said. "Forming a strong bond with local elected officials, cooperating on legislation and funding priorities is an important step in the right direction.

Since January, Congressman Latimer has visited and spoken at the board meetings for the villages of Tarrytown, Port Chester, Ardsley, Rye Brook, Irvington, and Mamaroneck, along with the Town of Rye Board. In April he will be presenting before:

  • Larchmont Village Board of Trustees
  • Scarsdale Village Board of Trustees
  • Mamaroneck Town Board

Those will complete meetings at 10 of the 26 jurisdictions in the 16th Congressional District.

The Congressman's team also holds a regular monthly conference call -"the Congressional Call"- for municipal, county and state legislators that covers relevant topics of intergovernmental issues, and is another way Rep. Latimer is remaining in regular contact with Westchester and Bronx officials.
