Emergency One Lane Closure in the Webster Tube (State Route 260)

Alameda County - Caltrans will implement nighttime one-lane closures in the Webster Tube to support the Caltrans Survey team conducting field survey work inside the tunnel. This preliminary work is related to the Oakland Alameda Access Project Webster Tube work, as well as restoration of permanent survey control points on the roadway. To ensure the safety of both workers and the traveling public, Caltrans will close one lane of the Webster Tube (Oakland to Alameda direction).

Closure Schedule:

  • Thursday, April 2; Friday, April 3; and Saturday, April 4 (nightly)
  • 10:00 PM - 5:00 AM (each night)

Detour & Access Changes:

  • Broadway entrance: CLOSED
  • 7th Street entrance: OPEN
  • Detour signs will be in place directing traffic to 7th Street

Be Work Zone Alert and expect travel delays.

Caltrans will update the project website - OaklandAlamedaAccessProject.com - and post on social media with the latest traffic advisories. Drivers are encouraged to check out Caltrans Quickmap https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ for live highway conditions.
