Electronic health records (EHR) vendors, health systems and pharmacies recognized for advancing safe, accurate prescribing
ARLINGTON, Va. - October 6, 2026 - Surescripts®, the nation's leading health intelligence platform, has named the winners of the 2026 Surescripts White Coat AwardTM, recognizing healthcare organizations that advance prescription accuracy and performance.
The Surescripts White Coat Award recognizes EHR vendors, health systems, retail and mail-order pharmacies, and pharmacy technology vendors from across the Surescripts Network Alliance®, the people and organizations who connect and contribute to the Surescripts network. Winners demonstrate a commitment to delivering clear, accurate electronic prescriptions that help reduce confusion, eliminate time-consuming phone calls and faxes, and support faster patient access to the medications they need.
Winners were recognized in two categories:
Highest Performance
RxChange Champion
"A prescription that is complete and accurate from the moment it's written spares a patient a delay at the pharmacy counter and spares a care team a phone call they didn't have time to make," said Frank Harvey, Chief Executive Officer for Surescripts. "This is the result of collaboration across the Surescripts Network Alliance®, whose participants work together to innovate and help instill confidence that prescriptions delivered are safe and accurate. Our 2026 White Coat Award recipients reflect that commitment at significant scale, improving the quality of care delivered to patients across the nation."
"Clear, accurate prescription information is essential to safe, timely care. It helps patients get medications without unnecessary delays and gives clinicians and pharmacists more time to focus on care," said Dr. Nele Jessel, Chief Medical Officer, athenahealth. "The 2026 Surescripts Highest Performance Award builds on athenahealth's strong track record of improving electronic prescribing and reflects our continued commitment to making the process simpler for care teams and safer for patients."
"At CenterWell Pharmacy we know that every prescription represents a patient depending on us to get it right," said Michelle Hartman, Vice President of Pharmacy Growth Strategy at CenterWell. "This award reflects our team's relentless commitment to accuracy, quality, and operational excellence. It recognizes the dedication our associates bring every day to help ensure prescriptions are clear, complete, and safe, reducing friction across the healthcare system and creating a more seamless experience for patients, providers and pharmacists. We are honored to receive the Surescripts White Coat award for the sixth time."
The Surescripts Network Alliance® supported 1.39 million prescribers who sent 2.64 billion E-Prescription in 2025, helping patients access prescription therapies safely and without delay. Additionally, more than 82% of retail pharmacy locations were enabled with RxChange in 2025, allowing pharmacists to recommend an update to a patient's prescription and get approval from the prescriber electronically, reducing the need for additional phone calls or faxes that can slow down the process.
