American Clean Power Association Welcomes New Board Chair, Ken Young, and Three New Board Members

Washington, D.C., August 12, 2026 - The American Clean Power Association (ACP), the clean energy industry's leading trade organization, today announced Ken Young as Chair of its Board of Directors and welcomed three new directors, further strengthening the organization's leadership at a pivotal time for the clean power industry. Young, who previously served as Chair-Elect, will lead ACP's Board as the industry works to meet growing electricity demand by advancing reliable, affordable American clean power, strengthening the nation's energy security, and supporting a resilient domestic energy future.

As CEO of Apex Clean Energy, Young leads the company's strategy and oversees the origination, development, construction, and operation of utility-scale wind, solar, storage, and distributed energy projects. A longtime Apex executive, he previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Operations, helping drive the company's growth and the successful delivery of renewable energy projects across the country. Over his decade in Apex leadership, the company commercialized more than 11 GW of projects.

Joining Young on the Board this year are Justin Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Arevon; Robert L. Tabb, President and Chief Executive Officer of CoVolt Power; and Caroline Mead, Senior Vice President of Power Marketing at ENGIE North America.

Johnson and Tabb join the ACP Board representing new member companies, while Mead fills the Board seat previously held by David Carroll, who stepped down from the Board due to a new professional opportunity.

In his new role as Board Chair, Young will focus on advancing a long-range policy platform for the industry and strengthening collaboration across the full suite of clean technologies to raise the standard the industry holds itself to. Young, who began his career as a U.S. Army infantry officer, will continue his long-time support of PowerVets, an ACP initiative that supports veterans working in the clean energy sector.

Before joining Apex, Young held leadership roles at Vestas Wind Systems and renewable energy owner-operators. A former U.S. Army infantry officer, he is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
