UW-Platteville hosting Rural Education Conference and Job Fair this month

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville School of Education will host the third annual Rural Education Conference and Job Fair on Wednesday, April 16. The conference, which has grown significantly since its inception, provides vital conversations and networking opportunities for students, educators and community leaders passionate about the opportunities and challenges facing rural communities.

"We are excited to do this for our undergrads," said Dr. Lindsay Hollingsworth, professor and associate director of UW-Plateville's School of Education. "All students should experience this type of conference to see what a professional development networking space looks like. Our students are our VIPs; they are the ones we designed this around. However, education is a conversation that many people are interested in, so we certainly welcome everyone to participate."

The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Velzy Commons at Ullsvik Hall. It will feature a keynote address by alumni educators Justin and Livia Doyle, a student poster presentation and the Teacher Job Fair. Several school districts will participate in the fair to connect job-seeking educators and students with rural school districts looking to fill vacancies.
