'Travel and Transformation' to Highlight Musical Works about Physical, Spiritual, and Emotional Journeys

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque's Department of Fine and Performing Arts and Northeast Iowa School of Music will present "Travel and Transformation" Spring Choir and Orchestra Concert at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026, in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center.

"Travel and Transformation" will feature the UD Concert Choir, UD Chamber Singers, UD Treble Choir, and the Dubuque Community String Orchestra with the UD String Ensemble.

Musical works about physical, spiritual, and emotional journeys will be highlighted. The ensembles will present a variety of music styles, from classical to folk and spirituals, by composers Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Christopher Tin, Jesus Florido, Leon Kirchner, and others.

"Travel and Transformation" will be conducted by Kristen Eby, MM, head of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, director of choral activities, and associate professor of music at UD, as well as Tracey Rush, MM, adjunct instructor of music at UD, director of the UD String Ensemble, founder of the Northeast Iowa School of Music, and founder of the Dubuque Community String Orchestra.

The spring concert will be accompanied by Jill Klinebriel, adjunct instructor of music at UD.

"Travel and Transformation" is free and open to the public. No ticket is required.
