On October 2, 2025 the official opening of the "Days of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)" took place at the Palais des Nations, the headquarters of the United Nations Office in Geneva (Switzerland).
The Republic of Belarus, which chairs the EAEU bodies in 2025, supported the initiative of the Eurasian Economic Commission to hold a landmark event and made a significant contribution to its organization.
The opening ceremony of the "EAEU Days" was attended by Director-General of the UN Office in Geneva, Tatiana Valovaya, Chairman of the Board of the EEC, Bakhytjan Sagintayev, and Permanent Representative of Belarus to International Organizations in Geneva, Larysa Belskaya.
The events of the "EAEU Days" were attended by representatives of states from all regions of the world.
The central event of the "EAEU Days" was an exhibition dedicated to the rich tourism potential of the Eurasian Five countries. The Belarusian exhibits at the exhibition included the Belovezhskaya Pushcha Nature Reserve, the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial complex, the Mir Castle complex, the unique architecture of the Troitsk suburb in Minsk and the house museum of the world-famous artist Marc Chagall in Vitebsk. The stand dedicated to the development of industrial tourism in our country aroused great interest among the guests of the event, and an excursion tour to BELAZ, one of the flagships of industrialization and technological development of modern Belarus, attracted special attention.
At the round table "Regional Economic Integration of the EAEU: Results over 10 Years and Prospects for Partnership," the participation of the heads of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the diplomatic missions of the Eurasian Five - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia - was complemented by interventions from heads and experts of relevant international organizations, including the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the World Trade Organization, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the International Organization for Migration, the International Labour Organization, and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Larysa Belskaya, and Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Andrei Prokopchuk, drew the attention of the participants of the round table to the priorities of the Belarusian chairmanship in the EAEU bodies in the field of strengthening industrial cooperation, developing technological potential and digital transformation, improving food security, accelerating integration in the service sector, forming a single transport space and developing international cooperation.
The Belarusian diplomats also emphasized the vision of the leadership of our country of the key directions of further development of the Eurasian economic integration.
The "EAEU Days" at the UN Office in Geneva have become an important step in strengthening the international positioning and authority of the EAEU as a successful and promising model of integration. The participants outlined new prospects for cooperation between the EAEU and the United Nations and specialized international organizations.
