One-Way Traffic Control & Highway Ramp Closure Next Week
State Routes 33 & 99

Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 33 (SR-33) and SR-99 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 33

  • One-way traffic control from Carmellia Avenue to Dairy Lane for utility work beginning Monday, May 11, through Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

State Route 99

  • One-way traffic control on the East Atwater Over-Crossing for utility work beginning Monday, May 11, through Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at the Mission Avenue Over-Crossing for graffiti removal work on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
