Tuberville Promotes April as Financial Literacy Month

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) joined U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) in introducing a resolution designating April 2026 as Financial Literacy Month. Since 2004, Financial Literacy Month has been recognized by the Senate as a national celebration of financial empowerment that raises awareness of the importance of financial education and provides resources to help Americans of all ages develop and maintain healthy financial habits.

"I spent nearly 40 years in education, and I can tell you that financial literacy is one of the most important things we should be teaching to our young people," said Sen. Tuberville. "Empowering students to manage their money well not only sets them up for success in school but also in life. I'm proud to support this resolution and hope to see more Americans equipped with the tools needed to achieve financial freedom."

Sens. Tuberville and Scott were joined by Sens. Jim Banks (R-IN), John Boozman (R-AR), Katie Britt (R-AL), Ted Budd (R-NC), Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Susan Collins (R-ME), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Steve Daines (R-MT), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Kirsten Gillibrant (D-NY), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Angus King (I-ME), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Gary Peters (D-MI), Jack Reed (D-RI), Pete Ricketts (R-NE), Jim Risch (R-ID), Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE), Mike Rounds (R-SD), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) in cosponsoring the resolution.
