This year, the Independence Day holiday falls on Saturday, July 4. The number of trains operating on BNSF track is typically lower over the holiday due to reduced freight volume. BNSF's Intermodal holiday operating plan will adjust operations to account for this potential reduction in traffic. As a result, shipments from Saturday, July 4, through noon on Monday, July 6, 2026, may experience delays of approximately 24 hours. Connecting carriers who have reduced operations for the holiday may cause delays on interline traffic.

For interactive tracing 365 days a year, please use BNSF's tracing web tool by logging into the BNSF Customer Portal with your username and password and selecting Trace on the homepage. If you have questions regarding a shipment(s), please utilize the Message Us feature on the BNSF Customer Portal (must be registered/logged in to access) or contact BNSF Customer Support at 1-888-428-2673.
Customer Support will maintain a limited staff on Independence Day. Normal coverage will resume on Monday, July 6.
