Applications now open - Survive and Thrive: Small business loan program - Summer 2026 Cohort

Exponential Impact, in partnership with the City of Colorado Springs, is now accepting applications for the Summer 2026 Small Business Loan Program, a Survive and Thrive program. This initiative provides low-interest, non-collateralized loans of up to $50,000, along with an 8-week entrepreneurial support program designed to help El Paso County small businesses grow and thrive. Applications are open from now thru May 1st, 2026.

"The City of Colorado Springs is excited to continue its partnership with Exponential Impact to support our small business community through the Survive and Thrive Small Business Loan Program," said Shawna Lippert, Economic Development Manager at the City of Colorado Springs. "Local businesses are encouraged to consider the opportunity to access the capital, mentorship, education, and community this program offers."

Small businesses headquartered in El Paso County with less than 50 full-time employees and at least 6 months of operating revenue are eligible to apply for the program. This loan program is an ideal fit for businesses seeking growth opportunities, planning to hire and train employees, redefining their business model, or experiencing barriers in accessing traditional financing.

"We're looking forward to another powerful cohort this summer," said Max Cupp, Executive Director of Exponential Impact. "Survive and Thrive offers more than just funding. It provides lasting community connections, personalized mentorship, and real-time support for business challenges."

Participants must complete an 8-week program to receive the full loan amount. The program includes personalized mentor pods, or groups, and expert-led sessions covering a variety of topics, such as finance, leadership, marketing, operational and personal growth.

  • Sessions held Wednesdays 1:00-3:00 p.m. from July 8 - August 26, 2026
  • Program graduation on September 2, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Accepted businesses will receive a three-year loan at a fixed interest rate of 5%.

Brian Laycock, from Urban Animal Brewing shared "as a first-time business owner and first time experiencing this type of Program, I was not sure what to expect. After completing the Survive & Thrive Program, I have not only learned many useful skills and approaches to how to improve my small business, but also many others in my position that I can reach out to for advice and help. This will allow me to create a better environment for both my staff and customers and give us the best opportunity for success. I highly recommend this Program to anyone with a small business, whether it is their first experience or one of many they have been a part of."
