At the solemn award ceremony held at the Residence of the President of the Republic, President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented the high state awards and congratulated the awardees.
Message of the President of the Republic:
"I congratulate all of us on the 34th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia. I also congratulate our colleagues who have been awarded the highest state honors and who, through their dedicated work, have served the development of the country. The state is obliged to recognize and encourage the deserving ones, as an example for us all.
Dear citizens of the Republic of Armenia,
Independence Day is not only a moment of historical memory but also the starting point of the road to the future. 34 years ago, our people made a decisive choice - to regain and reaffirm their statehood.
That choice obliged us to go through a difficult and challenging path, to withstand wars, losses, and hard trials.
But that path also taught us that independence itself is not a value unless it serves the security, well-being, and peace of our people.
Today, the most urgent and vital issue facing our state is peace. Peace-not as a short-term pause or a fragile agreement, but as a stable and solid foundation on which the future of Armenia is to be build.
We realize that peace is not only an external agreement, it is an inner conviction, the result of unity and nationwide strength.
These days we are taking steps toward establishing comprehensive peace. This is a complex and responsible process that requires patience, will, and sincerity.
The establishment of peace in the region will mean a new quality of relations with neighbors, the possibility of living in good-neighborliness, open borders, and new prospects. We are fully aware that this is not an easy path, but it is the only path that can ensure the development of our country and a prosperous and dignified life for our citizens.
Dear compatriots,
Independence is a movement, an ongoing process. It does not end with a certain date or a symbolic anniversary. Independence is a responsibility renewed every day - toward our state, our neighbors, our generations. It is a way of life that must be realized consistently through our work, our awareness, and our unity.
Today we know that the greatest prerequisite for building a strong state is peace.
Peace that will open new opportunities for the economy, education, culture, and science, that will ensure our citizens' confidence in the future, and that will make independence not just an achievement, but the daily reality of our country and our society.
Once again, I congratulate all of us on the 34th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia.
May independence continue to be the firm foundation of our people's unity and peaceful future."
