European Master's in Translation: winners announced for 'Your thesis in 3 minutes' contest

The winners of the 'Your thesis in 3 minutes' contest for European Master's in Translation students have been announced.

Students were challenged to present their master's thesis in just 3 minutes, as a video or podcast. After a competitive selection process, 10 finalists went head-to-head in a live online final on 7 May 2026, hosted on the Knowledge Centre on Translation and Interpretation (KCTI). They presented their research to a jury of experts from academia, EU institutions and the language industry.

The 4 winners are:

  • Chloë Strimelle - Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium
    Terminologie de la F1 : De la sécurité aux fondamentaux de la compétition
  • Noa Warren - Leiden University, Netherlands
    The Reception of Translated Medical Texts by Health Professionals in the Netherlands
  • Émilie Leclercq - University of Liège
    Effects of Translating a Multilingual Audiovisual Work: A Comparative Analysis of the French Versions of the Netflix Series 1899
  • Manjinder Thind - University of Bologna, Italy
    Exploring LLMs' abilities to handle gender-neutral rephrasing and translation in German


They will be invited to Brussels to receive their award at the Translating Europe Forum in November.
