Senator Warren Statement on September 2026 Jobs Report

Washington, D.C. - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, released the following statement:

"President Trump's failing economic agenda is weakening the labor market. Today's data confirms the economy added just 29,000 jobs in September and unemployment rose. Since January 2025, Trump's economy has only added 33,000 jobs a month on average, far below the 120,000-a-month average in 2024. At the same time, paychecks are growing at their slowest rate in nearly 7 years, outside of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the start of Trump's war, real wages have fallen 0.7% as his failed agenda keeps pushing prices up."
