As bankers know all too well, Credit Unions have unfair competitive advantages among financial institutions. Over time, they have expanded their operating scope well beyond their original mission, and they continually seek to expand their encroachment into conventional banking practices.
We are preparing for a potential fight with Credit Unions in the coming legislative cycle, where they may go to the legislature asking for another legal expansion of their operating scope into more conventional banking practices.
However, in order to effectively defend the banking industry and relay OBL's message to policymakers, widespread industry support is crucial. They need to hear it from YOU as a banker.
