About the Artist

Iishmaul Campbell is a fashion designer and multidisciplinary artist whose creative practice is deeply informed by the language of fashion, where color, texture, composition, and personal expression converge. A graduate of Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a bachelor of arts in history, he is a self-taught artist who has developed a professional practice spanning nearly a decade, translating the same instinct for boldness and visual storytelling found in his fashion work onto canvas. Drawing inspiration from the beauty of everyday life, his vibrant, color-driven works explore the relationship between style, emotion, and contemporary culture.

About the Artwork

"BeYOUtiful" is the division of a woman's face between her natural brown skin and golden honeycomb, with a bee emerging as a symbol of the self taking shape from within. Surrounded by sunflowers and layered textures, the work brings nature and identity together in a vibrant celebration of authenticity, growth, and becoming. One side speaks to the vulnerability of building yourself from the inside out, while the other reflects the quiet strength and resilience that develops along the way - often unseen by everyone but yourself.
