Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and AFGE to Hold Joint Press Conference on Government Shutdown Impacts Following Federal Workforce Food Drive

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Tomorrow, Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL), in partnership with AFGE Local 558, will hold a press conference immediately following the Federal Workforce Shutdown Assistance Food Drive in Dania Beach. She will discuss the ongoing impacts of the government shutdown on federal workers, their families, and Head Start staff.

The food drive, hosted in collaboration with AFGE Local 558, Feeding South Florida, and Bass Pro Shops, provides critical food and resources to federal employees who continue serving the nation despite the uncertainty of the shutdown.

"The federal workforce is the backbone of our public institutions," said Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick.
