Detectives Working Active Leads in Tuesday Night's Murder of Avanya Moore-Harris at Dickerson Pike Apartment Complex

Homicide and Specialized Investigations detectives are working active leads in Tuesday night's murder of Avanya Moore-Harris, 16, in a breezeway of Preserve at Highland Ridge Apartments on Dickerson Pike, where Moore-Harris lived. The motive behind the shooting of Moore-Harris remains under investigation. No one else at the apartment complex was hurt.

Officers and paramedics responded to the shooting call at 7:12 p.m. They found Moore-Harris on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he died shortly after arrival.
