Your City at Work: From the Mayor's Desk

Read below to learn more about initiatives my administration is working on, resources for Stamford residents, information about upcoming events, and important city and state information.

I released the following statement following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, "I am horrified by the senseless killing of Charlie Kirk. The rise in political violence - from the assassination of State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, to this most recent tragedy - is unacceptable. Violence is never the answer; it only deepens division, spreads fear, and erodes the values of our democracy. Those of us in positions of power have a responsibility to bring people together, regardless of political affiliation or ideology, and work to restore respect, civility, and dialogue across our communities. My thoughts are with the Kirk family".

MAYOR'S UPDATES

  • Stamford's AAA Rating: This week, S&P Global Ratings reaffirmed Stamford's AAA bond rating, which is the highest possible rating. As the only city in Connecticut to retain this rating, this recognition underscores Stamford's strong fiscal management, disciplined budgeting, and resilient local economy. It also delivers savings for residents by lowering borrowing costs for critical infrastructure projects, such as schools, road and sidewalk repair, and park improvements.
  • Remembering 9/11: Yesterday, our community came together to honor the lives lost on September 11th and the extraordinary heroism shown by first responders and everyday citizens. May we always carry forward their legacy of courage, unity, and resilience.
