A new vaccine is in clinical trials, aimed at helping stop the spread and recurrence of melanoma. Yusra Shao, M.D., medical oncologist and leader of the Cutaneous (Skin) Oncology Multidisciplinary Team at Karmanos, explained what the study results have been so far, how the mRNA-based technology works, and if this vaccine could lead to developments in vaccines for additional cancers.
