NBC NEWS: Oil hits $100 a barrel for first time since July as Middle East conflict intensifies again
COLUMBUS, OHIO - As oil prices topped $100 a barrel for the first time since May amid the escalating fighting in the Middle East, Jon Husted is abandoning Ohio for a week-long vacation in Texas.
Jon Husted has now voted thirteen times to support the war in Iran, while gas prices in Ohio surged to $4.29 a gallon this week and diesel prices are soon set to top $6 a gallon - a new record nationally. Instead of staying home to help lower costs for his constituents, Husted would rather jet set to Texas to schmooze with special interests and DC insiders while Ohioans pay more at the pump.
Ohio Democratic Party Senior Communications Advisor Tony Wen released the following statement:
"Oil just hit $100 a barrel, gas prices in Ohio keep skyrocketing, and Ohioans are getting crushed by the war Jon Husted keeps voting to support. But instead of fighting to lower costs at home, Jon Husted is jet-setting to Texas to schmooze with special interests and DC insiders, proving again how out of touch he really is."
While Husted keeps voting to make everything more expensive, he also can't help himself from insulting hardworking Ohioans struggling because of his votes:
