CLA Responds to European Commission's Food and Feed Safety Simplification Omnibus

On October 14, CropLife America (CLA) submitted comments to the European Commission's call for evidence on its Food and Feed Safety Simplification Omnibus. CLA's comments raise concerns that the Maximum Residue Level (MRL) "reciprocity" provisions and the "one-size-fits-all" regulatory approaches would impact farmers exporting pesticides to the European Union (EU). CLA urges the Commission to reform the MRL-setting process by upholding science- and risk-based criteria of the MRL legislation and honoring international trade commitments.
