Bad Behavior Banned: New School Rule Cracks Down on Unruly Sports Fans

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (May 9, 2025) - The New Brunswick Board of Education has adopted a new spectator code of conduct aimed at behavior at school sporting events.

Fans who let loose with foul language, verbally abuse officials, or decide to take an unauthorized stroll onto the playing field will find themselves swiftly ejected from the premises. But the crackdown doesn't stop there.

The code also lists other no-nos that will result in immediate removal, including any physical violence or threats towards officials, coaches, players, fellow fans, staff, or security. Intentionally stirring up the crowd to violent or abusive actions is also against the code.

First-time offenders will be barred from attending the next two games. A second offense within a year will result in a full one-year suspension from attending any school sporting events and activities.
