Burchett gives Mike Johnson vote of confidence for Speaker of the House
WASHINGTON, D.C., (January 3, 2025)- Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement after voting to re-elect Rep. Mike Johnson(LA-4)to serve as Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 119th Congress.
"I had concerns and I prayed on it for awhile. It's a tough job, but I gave Mike my vote because I believe he's the right man at the right time. This country is in a rough spot and the American people are owed what they were promised." said Rep. Burchett.
Mike Johnson was re-elected as Speaker of the House by a final tally of 218-215, with one member voting "other".
