MDOT resurfacing M-29 in New Baltimore Oct. 2-9

NEW BALTIMORE, Mich. - Crews continue to resurface M-29 (Green Street) in New Baltimore, Macomb County, with eastbound M-29 (Green Street) closed from Huntley Street to Murdick Drive and one westbound lane open until Thursday morning, Oct. 2, when work will switch with westbound M-29 (Green Street) closed from County Line Road to Huntley Avenue and one eastbound lane open. Resurfacing is expected to be completed by 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.

During the westbound M-29 closure, traffic will be detoured via southbound County Line Road and westbound Main Street back to westbound M-29 (Green Street/23 Mile Road).

This work is part of a $3.2 million investment on M-29 (23 Mile Road, Green Street and Main Street) between Baker Road and the St. Clair County line to resurface the road, upgrade sidewalk curb ramps, improve pedestrian traffic signals and restripe permanent pavement markings in the city of New Baltimore and Chesterfield Township.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 31 jobs.
