Below the Belt is a groundbreaking PBS documentary directed by Shannon Cohn from Executive Producers Hillary Rodham Clinton, Rosario Dawson, Corinne Fox, and Mae Whitman about the devasting impact of endometriosis on 200 million women globally. Through the personal and inspiring stories of four patients urgently searching for answers to mysterious symptoms, the film exposes widespread problems in our healthcare systems. Typically, women see an average of 8 doctors over ten years before being diagnosed with endometriosis. From societal taboos and gender bias to misinformed doctors and profit-driven healthcare, the film reveals how millions of people are effectively silenced and how, by fighting back, they can improve healthcare for all people.

The documentary is a catalyst to bring endometriosis into mainstream conversation in a transformative way sparking international dialogue among patients, providers, policymakers and media. Below the Belt educates healthcare professionals - including the next generation of general practitioners, pediatricians, OB-GYNs and nurses.
