Since construction began in April, crews have focused on improvements that prepare roadways for resurfacing, including accessibility upgrades and drainage improvements. More than 100 curb ramps have been upgraded and more than 1,000 linear feet of curb and gutter have been replaced.
The $5.3 million project will resurface approximately 11 miles of roadway throughout Cary, extending pavement life, improving ride quality, and maintaining the Town's transportation infrastructure.
Following work in MacDonald Woods, crews will move into the Copperleaf and Stonewater neighborhoods. Additional project locations include E. Chatham Street, High Meadow Drive, Kilmayne Drive, Wrenn Drive, Ashton Place, and Bargate Drive.
Residents may experience temporary traffic impacts, lane closures, and on-street parking restrictions during paving operations. Drivers are encouraged to watch for construction signage, allow extra travel time when possible, and avoid parking along streets scheduled for paving. Residents should also trim landscaping away from the roadway and keep debris out of gutters to help crews work efficiently.
The Town will continue coordinating with residents and businesses to minimize disruptions and provide advance notice of upcoming construction activities. Weather and other unforeseen conditions may affect the paving schedule.
