Congressman Brian Jack Delivers $1.98 Million Federal Investment in City of Hope Cancer Center in Newnan for Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Research

NEWNAN, GA- Today, Congressman Brian Jack (GA-03)visited City of Hope Cancer Center in Newnan to deliver the $1.98 million federal investment he secured through the federal government's Community Development Fund for cancer prevention and early detection research.

During the visit, Congressman Jack received a live demonstration of HopeLLM, City of Hope Atlanta's proprietary, generative AI platform that analyzes extensive oncology research and data to assist physicians in swiftly identifying preventive care options for patients. Congressman Jack's critical funding supports this innovative technology.

Congressman Brian Jack said, "I am honored to support our fight against cancer by delivering a $1.98 million federal investment in cancer prevention and early detection technology. Georgia's 3rd Congressional District is proud to be the home of City of Hope Atlanta's Newnan campus, one of our Country's leading cancer centers, and this funding will accelerate the deployment of City of Hope Atlanta's "HopeLLM", breakthrough technology that could revolutionize the way cancer patients are treated. Curing cancer is a goal that unifies all Americans, and funding and utilizing emerging technologies will hopefully enable us to achieve this virtuous objective."

On February 3, 2026, President Trump signed into law H.R.7148 - Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026. Through this legislation, Congressman Brian Jack worked with President Trump to deliver the $1.98 million federal investment in HopeLLM, the City of Hope Atlanta's multimodal generative AI framework to optimize cancer prevention and early detection. The pilot program is scheduled to launch in Newnan later this year, giving patients across Georgia early access to City of Hope Atlanta's national network of clinical trials and oncology data.
