The Orkney Islands Council (Armed Forces Day) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Orkney Islands Council has made an order in terms of section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to ensure the safety of the public and road users during an Armed Forces Day event.

The order will be in operation on Saturday, 27 June 2026 between 08:00 and 17:30. The effect of the Order will be to close (1) Albert Street, from Laing Street to Broad Street; (2) Broad Street, from Albert Street to Palace Road; (3) Broad Street car park; and (4) Castle Street, from Broad Street to car park exit, all Kirkwall, between the hours and on the day stated above. Parking will also be suspended on Broad Street, Kirkwall on Saturday, 27 June 2026 between 08:00 and 17:30.

Traffic signs will be erected to indicate when a road or car park is closed.
