On 8 January 2025, Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East, and African Affairs, welcomed and had a discussion with the delegation from Green Africa Group (GAG) led by Ms. Morakot Janemathukorn, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Kenya, and Mr. Isaac Kalua Green, Chairman of GAG, during their visit to Thailand to promote second-hand cars import and export cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides exchanged information and views on export opportunities of second-hand cars from Thailand to Kenya. Mr. Green informed that Kenyan customers preferred imported second-hand cars and Kenyan car dealers recognized the quality of second-hand cars from Thailand. Both sides also discussed economic opportunities between Thailand and Kenya, including sectors where Thailand has expertise, such as setting up environmentally-friendly industries at Kenya's Africa Green Economic Zone, as well as agricultural machineries. The discussions also covered promoting Thailand as destination for medical treatment among Kenyan patients.
In addition, both sides explored ways to enhance development cooperation between Thailand and Kenya, especially on cloud seeding technology to address drought issues.
