Mayor Rachel L. Proctor has launched 20 Minutes with the Mayor, a new monthly podcast designed to keep residents informed about City news, upcoming projects and the people working to make DeSoto a great place to live.

The inaugural episode opens with a farewell conversation featuring City Manager Majed Al-Ghafry, who reflects on his time serving the DeSoto community. Mayor Proctor also provides an update on the City's search for its next City Manager.

Residents will also hear from Public Utilities Customer Service Supervisor Janice Johnson, who walks viewers through the City's new utility billing system and answers some of the most common questions about the transition. The episode welcomes Lancaster City Manager Opal Mauldin-Jones, who joins Mayor Proctor to discuss the upcoming America 250 celebration, a collaborative event between the neighboring cities. To wrap up the episode, Communications and Marketing Coordinator Latoya Fondren introduces the City's new Community Question of the Month segment, highlighting another way residents can engage directly with City leadership.
