If you're looking for a way to keep the excitement going after celebrating the Carolina Hurricanes, make plans to join us for the official kickoff of the 2026 Raleigh Hoop Nights season on Saturday, June 20, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Roberts Community Center, 1300 E. Martin Street.
The City of Raleigh and the Raleigh Police Department invite youth ages 7 to 18 to enjoy an afternoon of basketball, community engagement, and positive interaction with local public safety professionals. Participants will have the opportunity to learn basketball skills from the Raleigh Firebirds and compete in friendly games alongside Raleigh police officers, firefighters, and other members of public safety.
Raleigh Hoop Nights supports one of Raleigh Police Chief Rico Boyce's strategic priorities: Community Engagement. The program helps build positive relationships between youth and officers while creating safe, welcoming spaces for recreation and mentorship.
"Raleigh Hoop Nights is about more than basketball," said Chief Rico Boyce. "It's an opportunity for young people to connect with officers in their neighborhoods, build trust, and have fun in a positive environment."
The kickoff event marks the start of a summer-long series that will continue on Friday nights throughout Raleigh. Future Raleigh Hoop Nights events are free and open to teens ages 14 to 18.
Registration is now open. Click here to sign up.
