ATLANTA - State Representative Eric Bell (D-Jonesboro), in partnership with American Deli, invites citizens and enterprises from across Georgia to the State Capitol for a day of advocacy, community and flavor in recognition of Lemon Pepper Day at the State Capitol on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 9:30 - 10 a.m. in room 510 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta, Georgia.
"This is about more than just a favorite flavor; it's about bringing people to the table where decisions are made," said Rep. Bell. "We are combining Georgia's culture with meaningful legislative action to ensure every citizen has a voice in our Capitol."
Rep. Bell emphasizes that the event aims to mobilize the community around several pieces of legislation, most notably House Bill 1013, which seeks to designate lemon pepper as the state's official chicken wing flavor. He also notes that beyond the seasoning, they day will be focused on policy reform regarding education, victim safety and reentry.
Rep. Bell encourages participants to join him outside of the House Chamber from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to discuss the following bills: HB 1013; House Bill 206, which would expand the HOPE scholarship to include citizens with prior drug convictions; House Bill 464, which would provide enhanced protections for victims of violent crimes; and House Bill 650, which would promote successful reentry by providing previously convicted felons with access to professional licenses, voting and housing.
