May 2, 2025 - Mayor Ken Welch is inviting the community to participate in a special "Move with the Mayor" event on Friday, May 9, in recognition of the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Move More with the Mayor Campaign and Mental Health Awareness Month. On this day at 9 a.m., participants will gather on the steps of City Hall for a group walk through the heart of downtown St. Pete.
"Physical and mental health are often pushed aside when experiencing stress or hard times, so I'm proud to host 'Move with the Mayor' to promote physical and mental well-being in our neighborhoods," said Mayor Kenneth T. Welch. "I invite St. Pete employees, residents, and businesses to lace up their sneakers and join me for an exciting morning of movement, community, and wellness."
"Move with the Mayor" highlights the importance of staying active while raising awareness for mental health and encouraging community members to take steps toward improving their overall wellness.
Friday, May 9, 9 - 10 a.m.
Starts on City Hall steps
175 5th St. N
The walk will take participants along a scenic route through the business corridor of downtown St. Pete, providing a chance to connect with others while enjoying the sights of the city. After the walk, attendees will have the opportunity to visit resource tables and gather valuable information about support services available in the community.
This event serves as an opportunity for individuals to engage with both physical and mental health resources, helping to create a stronger, more informed community.
