Every year, the Seguin Young Professionals, in association with the Seguin Chamber of Commerce, announces the Rising Stars of Guadalupe County-a group of outstanding young professionals who are making a meaningful impact through leadership, innovation, and community involvement.
Among the chosen few for 2025 is TLU alum Kenneth Wolber '09, a financial advisor at Raymond James.
"It's a great honor to be named a Rising Star of Guadalupe County," said Wolber. "The other nominees are names you will continue to see as leaders and pillars of the community, and I am proud to be considered."
Wolber stays involved with the Seguin Young Professionals by attending the organization's events and luncheons, and has even been a presenting speaker, educating attendees on the importance of financial literacy and responsible investing.
Aside from his job, Wolber prioritizes volunteer work. He says that years ago, someone gave him a piece of advice he's always taken to heart-to give your time and energy to an organization you're passionate about. So it follows that, as an avid outdoorsman, Wolber volunteers with the Seguin Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, a national wildlife and conservation non-profit, working with the organization at both the local and national levels. "I recently became the area chairman and have even recruited a few other TLU alumni along the way to serve as board members," he said. "We've set fundraising records that go toward wildlife and wetland habitat."
Wolber, who earned his degree in communications studies, says TLU is one of the keys to his success. "TLU prepared me well for my career but in a way that I did not realize while I was in college," he said. "As I've aged, and my hindsight becomes more clear, I've realized that my time at TLU, inside and outside the classroom, is what laid the foundation for my career and molded who I am. TLU taught me how to analyze, how to study, and how to see the big picture. I learned how to develop daily systems and processes to make sure I got my work done and still had time for the fun things, which is still a big part of how I operate."
On September 19, the two Rising Stars with the highest scores in professional leadership and community impact will be announced at the Seguin Chamber of Commerce's annual banquet.
