FWPA appoints Dr Julianne O’Reilly-Wapstra as CEO

Forest & Wood Products Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Julianne O'Reilly-Wapstra as its new Chief Executive Officer, commencing 1 December 2026.

Julianne brings more than 20 years of senior executive, board and operational leadership experience across forestry, research and government. Currently Dean of Natural Sciences at the University of Tasmania, she has extensive experience leading large teams, managing complex operations and directing major research and development portfolios.

Her strong industry relationships, commercial acumen, and ability to turn research into practical outcomes will support FWPA in delivering measurable value for members and the broader forest and wood products sector. Her experience working across research, industry and government will also strengthen collaboration with industry partners and government stakeholders.

Julianne said she is looking forward to working closely with members and stakeholders to deliver FWPA's strategic priorities, build industry capability and support innovation and profitable market growth.
