City Of Las Vegas TV Celebrates 25 Years
City's Emmy Award-Winning Government Access Television Station Hits Milestone
This month, the city of Las Vegas' Emmy Award-winning government access television station celebrates 25 years of operation. The station first launched in Jan. 2000 by carrying a live City Council meeting. Since then the channel has provided more than 219,000 hours of community programming.
As part of the anniversary celebration, and because city programming is now viewed on a variety of platforms, the station has been renamed and rebranded. Once called KCLV Cable Channel 2 because it could only viewed on cable, the moniker is now City of Las Vegas TV.
Despite the name change, the station continues to be the community's connection for information about city services, projects, recreation and more. Along with being shown on cable television and YouTube, the city's Emmy Award-winning content also now may be conveniently viewed at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Connect.
The webpage, www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Connect, also features Spanish-language content, social media content from the city's award-winning team, live content, the latest news in blogs and news releases and much more.
As part of the 25-year celebration, viewers will notice a different look and feel on the channel, but it will continue to be your community connection. Viewers still will be able to watch programming like "Access City Council," "City Beat," City Council and Planning Commission meetings and more.
