Beer Board Accountability Training (BBAT) Now Available

The Metro Nashville Beer Board is pleased to announce that the Beer Board Accountability Training (BBAT) program is now available for registration.

This comprehensive training program is designed to help business owners, managers, and permit holders gain a deeper understanding of Metro Nashville's beer laws, rules, and regulations. Participants will learn how to navigate the beer permitting process effectively and maintain compliance after receiving their permit.

What You'll Learn

Participants will gain valuable insight into:

  • How to submit a complete and accurate beer permit application
  • Understanding Metro Nashville's beer laws, rules, and regulations
  • What to expect during the review and hearing process
  • How to maintain compliance after your permit is issued

The interactive format includes presentations, Q&A sessions, and real-life scenarios to enhance learning. Whether you are new to the industry or simply refreshing your knowledge, this program provides practical resources to support your success.

Attendance Options

BBAT training is available both online and in-person, offering flexibility to meet your schedule and preferences.

  • Online: Conducted through Microsoft Webex, allowing participants to join remotely from any location.
  • In-Person: Sessions are periodically held at the Metro Office Building, providing an opportunity for direct engagement with Beer Board staff.

Specific dates and details will be provided after registration.

Program Benefits

Permit holders who complete BBAT training may find some reprieve in civil penalties if ever found in violation of the beer laws, rules, or regulations. For example, a first offense violation for selling beer to a minor typically carries a $1,500 penalty. However, those who have completed the BBAT program could be eligible for a reduced civil penalty offer.

Beyond the potential cost savings, this training encourages businesses to foster a culture of accountability and awareness. The Beer Board strongly recommends that at least one owner or general manager from each business participate.
