Nicole Rossol, chief patient experience officer for Stony Brook Medicine, has been selected to serve as co-chair of the Healthcare Association of New York State's (HANYS) Chief Patient Experience Officers Forum for 2027-2028.
Established by HANYS in 2025, the statewide forum brings together patient experience leaders from hospitals and health systems across New York to collaborate on strategies that enhance the patient experience and address evolving healthcare challenges. The forum currently includes more than 130 healthcare experience leaders from across the state who share best practices, discuss emerging trends and support initiatives aimed at improving patient experience outcomes.
As co-chair, Rossol will help guide forum discussions and foster collaboration among healthcare leaders working to advance patient-centered care throughout New York. The forum serves as a dedicated network for hospital and health system executives to exchange ideas, identify innovative approaches and contribute to HANYS' educational and advocacy efforts related to patient experience.
"Nicole's appointment reflects her leadership, expertise and commitment to creating exceptional experiences for our patients and families," said SBM Executive Vice President William Wertheim, MD. "We are proud to see her recognized by colleagues across New York State and look forward to the impact she will continue to make both at Stony Brook Medicine and through this important statewide leadership role."
As chief patient experience officer, Rossol leads efforts across Stony Brook Medicine to strengthen patient engagement, improve communication, and foster a culture centered on compassion, respect, and excellence in care. Her selection as co-chair underscores Stony Brook Medicine's ongoing commitment to advancing the patient experience and contributing to healthcare innovation across New York.
