Booker Statement on Vote Against Clarity Act

"After nearly a year of negotiating in good faith towards a bill that protects consumers, cracks down on Trump's corrupt crypto schemes and sets fair rules of the road for the crypto industry, I am deeply disappointed that Senate Republicans brought a bill to the floor without bipartisan agreement. I said from the start of my work on this issue, I will not support legislation that allows President Trump to line his own pockets. It's outrageous that the President of the United States and Senate Republicans decided to protect President Trump's corruption, self-dealing and schemes to turn the White House into his personal ATM over the interests of American consumers."
