City officials to welcome Sister City Delegation from Jelenia Góra

The City of Tyler will welcome a delegation from its Sister City, Jelenia Góra, Poland, on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 9 a.m. as part of a weeklong cultural exchange visit.

As the first stop of their first full day in Tyler, the group will arrive at City Hall at 9 a.m. for a tour, welcome celebration and gift exchange with Mayor Don Warren, members of the Tyler City Council and City officials. The visit marks more than three decades of friendship between the two cities, which first established their sister city partnership in the early 1990s.

Following their welcome at City Hall, the delegation will explore several of Tyler's cultural and community landmarks, including Fire Station 1, the Texas Rose Festival, the Tyler Rose Garden and other places that showcase what the city has to offer.

"Our sister city relationship with Jelenia Góra has always been about connection and friendship," said Mayor Don Warren. "We are honored to host our friends from Poland and to share the beauty, hospitality and spirit of Tyler with them. These exchanges remind us that even across oceans, communities can learn from one another and grow stronger together."

Tyler Sister Cities, Inc. coordinated the visit in partnership with the City of Tyler, the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler Junior College and other community stakeholders. The delegation's itinerary includes cultural tours, local meetings, and opportunities to engage with residents and community leaders.

The group will also attend the Texas Rose Festival, tour the garden and visit various places around Tyler to show what it has to offer.
