The Southern University School of Nursing (SUSON) has been recognized as the best nursing school in the United States by Nurse.org for the second consecutive year.
Nurse.org - a website that supports and empowers nursing professionals and students - hosts the Best of Nursing Awards annually to recognize and celebrate dedication and excellence in the nursing industry across the United States.
SUSON was named a finalist for Best Nursing School, along with Capella University, Chamberlain University College of Nursing, Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and the Lunder CareForce Institute.
Dr. Sandra Brown, dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health, said the recognition reflects the continued commitment of the university's nursing program to academic excellence and workforce preparation.
"Being named Best Nursing School in the U.S. for two consecutive years is a tremendous honor, and it affirms the excellence our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and clinical partners bring to this work every day," Brown said. "This recognition speaks to the strength of our academic programs, our commitment to workforce preparation, and the impact our graduates make in communities across Louisiana and beyond. We are grateful for this recognition and remain focused on advancing nursing education, expanding opportunity, and continuing to set the standard for student success and patient-centered care."
The recognition comes as the School of Nursing celebrates 40 years as an academic program on Southern's campus.
