Parks Update: New Amenities Coming to West Jordan

West Jordan's parks are entering an exciting new chapter, with major upgrades and new amenities taking shape across the city. From refreshed facilities to entirely new recreation features, these improvements are designed to enhance play, support community needs, and prepare our parks for the future.

As warmer weather arrives, park restrooms across the city are now open for the season. Visitors to the West Jordan Soccer Complex may notice remodeling work happening at the restroom facilities. While construction continues there, portable restrooms are available, and the updated facilities are expected to reopen in the coming weeks.

At Ron Wood Park, significant work is underway both above and below the surface. Construction has begun on a new municipal well in the northwest corner of the park, an important investment in strengthening the city's water infrastructure. This well, the eighth in West Jordan's system, will support long-term, reliable service for the community.

But the transformation at Ron Wood Park doesn't stop there. The park is preparing for major enhancements that will dramatically expand its recreational offerings. Plans include installing new artificial turf fields, expanding parking areas, and adding improved amenities to make the park more accessible. These upgrades will roll out alongside the well construction. The new fields, parking, and amenities are expected to be completed by spring 2027, with the well scheduled for completion in winter 2026.

Other parks across the city are also getting exciting new features. At Veterans Memorial Park, two new mini pitch fields are currently under construction. These small, hard-surface courts are designed for fast-paced, informal soccer play. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2026. Some temporary closures may happen during construction.

Meanwhile, Constitution Park is welcoming a brand-new ninja warrior course, also slated for completion in summer 2026. Built for a wide range of ages and abilities, the course offers a fun and challenging new way to stay active. Its color scheme was intentionally chosen to match nearby Oquirrh Elementary School, creating a playful visual connection with the surrounding neighborhood.

From expanded recreation options to key infrastructure upgrades, these improvements reflect the city's commitment to creating vibrant, accessible spaces for residents to gather, play, and connect!
