VALDOSTA, Ga. - Lowndes County and the City of Valdosta will host the annual Valdosta-Lowndes County 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the historic Lowndes County Courthouse in Downtown Valdosta.
The ceremony will honor and remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, as well as the first responders and others who made the ultimate sacrifice in the days that followed.
Each year, the ceremony provides an opportunity for the Valdosta-Lowndes County community to come together in remembrance of the lives lost, the bravery displayed by first responders, and the countless individuals and families whose lives were forever changed by the events of September 11.
Community members are invited to attend and join local leaders, first responders, and fellow residents in honoring the memory and sacrifice of those impacted by the attacks.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. in the courtroom of the historic Lowndes County Courthouse, located at 100 East Central Avenue in Downtown Valdosta.
