Kelly Miller and LeDroit Park Residents See September Off with a Community Day

The District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) hosted a block party for the Kelly Miller and LeDroit Park communities on Saturday, Sept. 26, as part of its Rebuilding Our Communities Block Party series.
More than 170 people braved the rain to join DCHA staff for a fun-filled day with their family, friends and neighbors. Partygoers enjoyed food, live music, games, face painting, bounce houses and more. The block party also allowed people to connect and strengthen community bonds.
In addition to the fun, service providers were also available to provide information about various resources to attendees. These providers connect individuals with support regarding education, workforce development, job opportunities, healthcare, and more.
DCHA's Rebuilding Our Communities initiative focuses on building connections between community members and providing access to helpful resources. DCHA will host additional block parties in this series at other public housing communities through October.
DCHA is grateful for the service providers who helped make this event possible.
