Gilbert PD Awarded Grant for Impaired Driving Enforcement and Training

Gilbert, AZ - The Gilbert Police Department (GPD) has been awarded $15,000 in grant funds, which will be allocated toward Gilbert PD overtime costs when our officers instruct at state-wide training courses, as well as conduct impaired driving enforcement. This grant was awarded by the Oversight Council on Driving or Operating Under the Influence Abatement (DUI Abatement Council), in partnership with the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).

Impaired drivers are a danger to all motorists nationwide. This grant will allow our officers to proactively remove impaired drivers from our roadways through educational efforts and direct DUI enforcement operations. Gilbert PD remains steadfast in our commitment to the safety of all motorists who travel on our roadways.
