FEMA Individual Assistance Specialists Available at Local Recovery Centers Across Hawai'i

HONOLULU -Hawai'i residents who were impacted by the March 10-24, 2026 Kona Low flooding can get in-person help with their disaster assistance applications at local recovery centers operated by county and non-profit partners in the City and County of Honolulu and Hawai'i and Maui counties. Locations and schedules are subject to change based on community needs. The most up-to-date information can be found on Ready.Hawaii.gov.

Services Available at Local Recovery Centers

FEMA Individual Assistance specialists can help residents:

  • Apply for FEMA Individual Assistance,
  • Update or correct an existing application (for example, after receiving an insurance settlement),
  • Check the status of their application, and
  • Understand FEMA letters, documentation requests, inspections, and appeals.

U.S. Small Business Administration specialists will be on site to assist with low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters, businesses of any size and nonprofits, and answer related questions.

Non-profit and county staff will also be on site to connect residents with local services, including cleanup assistance, basic supplies, and other recovery support.

Residents are encouraged to bring, if available:

  • A photo ID,
  • The address of their damaged primary residence,
  • Insurance information and any claim letters, and
  • Any photos, lists of damages, and receipts related to their losses.

If documents are missing, FEMA specialists can still help residents start or continue applications.

Other Ways to Apply for FEMA Assistance

Visiting a local recovery center is not required to apply for FEMA assistance. Residents can also:

  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362,
  • Apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, or
  • Use the FEMA mobile app.

If you use a relay service, such as video relay or captioned telephone, please provide FEMA with the number for that service when you call.

The deadline for applications is June 14, 2026. Residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, document their damage, and take advantage of in-person support at local recovery centers if they need help with the FEMA application process.
